After pulling the front end off of my truck I found out just how badly the core support is rotted out. I think I'm going to try and do a little bit of sheet metal work and fix it up. Could someone post a few pictures of what the bottom the theirs looks like for reference, and also a few pictures of where the core support mounts to the frame? All I've got left are a few pieces dangling in that area, so it'd be helpful to have an idea of what I need to fabricate.

Took a few while I was out there hopefully it helps. If not let me know what area or picture you need and I will get them for you. My truck is a 66 f-100 2wd custom cab.
Thanks for that Ruger, that helps a lot. I'm not sure when I'll get around to it, probably after the floor pans and cab mounts are done, but eventually I'm hoping to try and use your pictures as guides to repair mine.
Does anyone know if the radiator support on rockauto is a direct fit? I've read in several places that no one makes them and you have to modify a few things to make it work.
The radiator supports are all actually very similar. Subtle differences are things like the angled brackets that are welded on to support the inner fenders for the 1965/66 years. And once the battery was moved up front next to the support they incorporated a few caged nuts to tap into for the battery tray and hold-down. You can cut the bottom half off of one and graft it to another, move brackets, even weld in cage nuts, so there is nothing to stop a person.
I tried to find a picture of the backside, Goodmark doesn't even have a picture and they get $414 before shipping, (go rock auto at $270!) it may not have any radiator or fenderwell mounts at all and you may have to cut yours off and put them on. It is the same otherwise it will fit. I bought a carpenter one from a guy that originally was set up for a 64 type cab and radiator and he had modified it welding on fenderwell supports and some nutserts for the radiator to mount to for his 66 before he abandoned the project. I had to cut his stuff off and weld my original old stuff back on, crazy but it was cheaper than buying new with shipping. I remember that there is a video of someone modifying one for a 66 that I have seen, search youtube.
I appreciate the info y'all. It seems a shame to spend $270 for a new one when I just need to replace the bottom portion that's rotted out. Maybe I'm just being stingy, but trying to come up with alternatives.
Oh here's a couple pictures of the modified one I bought that you want your to look like, in the top shot you can see the three holes to the right of the radiator that are caged nuts like chad mentioned, and there is another up higher for the battery tray I think.
Cheers,
Ed
Thanks ND, do you know how close C6TZ-16138-B and C6TZ-16138-C are? In the few preliminary searches I've done I can only see people reproducing the latter. Would I be able to find one from a ford parts dealer or is it going to be aftermarket primarily?
