looking into putting a line lock on my 96 f150. i’m a little familiar with them but not really. what i need to know is, do they make them that don’t hold the front break? i wanna be able to do a rolling burnout. basically what i want is a solenoid that can shut off the pressure to the rear breaks. i know they make a valve that can do that. but i’d really rather have it on a toggle switch in the cab. is that something they make? if not. i will do the valve. or if anyone else has an idea i’m open to options.
Mico brake locks are mechanical, usually installed so the front brakes are the controlled wheels. They have a lever that is moved from open to closed, which controls the action.
The lever can be moved slowly to let the brakes release slowly.
A rolling burnout out easy. You are overthinking this. Just install a line lock like normal to hold the front brakes.
Rolling burnout = stop, press brakes, activate line lock, start burnout, release line lock and then you are rolling.
so after i release the line lock the front brakes won’t be held but the rear will still no longer have pressure? or until the next time i pump the breaks at least.
a line lock or lever lock will only hold pressure in the brake circuit it is applied on.
so put it on the front bake circuit. step on brake pedal and activate the lock. release brake pedal and the front brakes will stay applied but rear circuit is released.
start smoking the tires, then release the lock and the front brakes will release and you will start rolling.
