I have a 2006 Expedition. The transmission problem started out slow. When shifting into drive and/or reverse it would hesitate before engaging into gear. Now, when starting from a stop the transmission doesn't engage into gear until it gets to about 25 miles an hour. And the overdrive light is now flashing on the dash. Thank you in advance for any help or advice.
How does the fluid level look ? Is the tranny fluid bright red ? Or is it brownish. You could have the fluid flushed and see if that helps. But other than the fluid being low or some dirty / clogged passages it's probably time for a new tranny.

If it doesn't engage into gear until 25 MPH, how do you get to 25 MPH? Is someone pushing you?

You need to read the codes to be able to fix this. Forscan can read them, or a good independent shop, or a Ford dealer. Without the codes about all I can tell you is that something is wrong.

Perhaps Paula Murphy Triphan is trying to say that it doesn't shift into the next gear until 25MPH . . . ? At light throttle, this would be unexpected and when it does actually shift it would be be quite a jolt for those that are unfamiliar with transmission issues.
According to the Paula Murphy Triphan's profile it is a 2006 with over 100,000 miles on it, so it has less than 8,000 miles per year put on it. Depending on the environment that it lives in, maybe lots of short cold trips have added up and there's junk built up in there somewhere and something is hanging up.
Best bet: Take it to a reputable transmission shop for diagnosis, or if Paula Murphy Triphan is able, willing, and has experience working on this kind of thing, pull the pan and see what's inside then report back.
