So I'm working on the 73 and thanks to @twinzilla I got some nice Type 7 mirrors for Lucky (yes that's her name ?). As per usual, at some time the passenger mirror caught something and pushed the swing loc bracket into the mirror head and you guessed it..shattered the mirror glass and tweaked the mirror head. No big deal (I hope). So here's the question...I know most auto glass or mirror shops can cut a piece of glass for this but are there any good replacement glass options available? Specifically I'll be hunting for the rubber gasket that holds the glass into the head housing. Just wondered what you guys had run into with these gaskets and glass and if I should start looking for a replacement mirror head or if I have options. Thank ya kindly
look on ebay there are quite a few options. I don't believe that is an original mirror anyway as the ones I've seen say Ford on them, or maybe I just can't see it. in any event replacements are available both new and used. the only problem I've seen with the new replacement mirrors is they mount slightly lower . but I put a new set on my type 7's and they look good in my opinion.

It's hard to tell but that's the inside of where the glass would go on the pic you mentioned they say ford is small script on the other side at the bottom. I may check eBay if I can't find it thanks.

I'll have to check them out..I don't think glass will be hard to come by but the gasket that keep the glass in is what I think might be the hard find. Could be wrong but I'll check and see if DC of NPD has any. Thanks
