What's up with ford trying to kill non ford owned websites with ford in the URL?
I was reading about this petition in another forum. http://www.petitiononline.com/FMCO/petition.html
I thought that this kind of stuff was illegal since the madonna crap. Has ford said anything to you about it yet Ken? I'm not really sure about the legitimacy of the claims the petition is trying to make but I signed it anyway.

#327 here.. Sorry that is a Chevy engine block, but at least it was a good one. I signed on Monday, so it shows how fast the petition is gaining momentum. I just can't believe how paranoid Ford is about their logo and name. Must have something to do with attorneys and managers. They just don't get it! Brien

#480. Hey, they forced www.ford-diesel.com to change their domain name. Luckily they had another domain name on stand by, www.diesel-pickup.com/ . Geez, give me a break, Ford must have some lawyers with too much time on their hands or something.

It appears I got Ford numbers if you change the numbers around.

I think there are a lot of great comments in that petition.

Well I've got news (and spread this far and wide):
While I was browsing the signatures on said petition (INCLUDING my OWN #575 (thank you very much)) I spotted a comment by a signature saying "Maybe I should call the ford customer satisfaction hotline at 1-800 (I forgot the rest, but it's in the first 75+ signatures) and talk to a customer representative.
Well lemmee tellya whut -
I did and this is what happened so far:
They were amazed when I explained it all out. And I got transferred up to "the next floor" and talked to someone there who took some address info from me and looked at the petition on the computer in their office, and now they in turn are RUNNING UP TO "THE NEXT FLOOR"...
Among other issues I mentioned was that they would not be getting any feedback at all if it were not for those same websites created by loyal fans. I hope they didn't take it too sarcastically when I added:
"Now do you see the value of these websites? I guarantee you this info is already spreading like a wildfire..." (And I mentioned Canada and Australia)
Do you see the chain of events here? According to voice #2 -I was the first person who had called in and mentioned it to them...
I'm waiting to recieve a call back to hear what "UPSTAIRS" had to say, but that's fine -
I have DSL and the telephone cord reaches to the bathroom if necessary.
But another item spilled out in conversation:
Apparently FORD has a website domain named:
www.fordvehicles.com
Do you smell what I do?
With a side area named:
MYFORD.com
Oh my goodness! Guess who came late to the party...
(He says, dryly)
The last time I looked the owner of a Domain name has exclusive rights to it unless it is abandoned or cancelled.
More news at eleven...
By that I mean I'll let everyone here know if a FORD rep calls me back. And if it crossed anyones mind for a second, I said outright on the telephone that I WILL BE DAMNED IF I WILL HAND OVER EVEN ONE NAME OF A LOYAL FORD FAN SITE. That ain't happenin', period. 'Cuz I mean ta tell ya - I have a memory that's convenient as all get out at times!
Maybe I should register the Domain Name "www.MYBUDWIESER.com" befo' Anhauser Busch git wind of this...
