I just bought a fairly nice 1995 F250. 2wd, 5.0L and 5spd with nearly brand new tires for $1k. Some rust starting. but it generally runs great and only has 115k miles. I simply needed a truck and this one was in my back door and I knew it was probably worth more than he was asking. Although I've always liked the OBS Fords and I had a '96 F150 for a short time. The check engine light stayed off most of my way home but lit within the last 5 miles. I think it was a 30 mile trip. since then it comes on basically every time after it warms up. Runs great and even the A/C is COLD
I'm fighting a code 32 and a code 30 ( ghost code? ). I used my trusty OTC monitor 2000 that I have had since I was in high school. I replaced the EGR position sensor with a Standard motor products one and I do have a new Airtex EGR if I can get the big nut off. Is there anything else that will cause this code? the wiring looks ok. All in all, the light just annoys me. It runs fine otherwise and isn't an inspection requirement
I only have Pathfinder 1993 software currently so I ran it as a '93 Vin N which could create a discrepancy. I have Pathfinder 1996 on the way hoping that it will work with the Monitor 2000, which it should.. It performs other tests beyond the paperclip. But I'll check the codes with a paperclip to be sure.
Code 1-1-1 and 332. So same code. The monitor was right just displayed the old format. I found the black hose coming off the soup can had a split and touching it broke it in 2. Think I found the issue.
