Recently bought an 87’ f-150 with a 302 in it. Replaced the thermostat, water pump, starter solenoid, battery, and the belts. I went to start it and it buzzed from the door being opened, then I went to put the key into on position and nothing. Absolutely nothing, no buzzing, no lights.
I’m at a complete standstill. Any thoughts?
I'm guessing you did not clean the battery terminals before installing them onto the battery. Similarly, the terminals bolted to the starter solenoid need to be cleaned.

I checked all that and I’m getting juice to the solenoid but I should probably clean the wire going to the starter also. I have a multimeter and I’ve been checking what I can, but i don’t know what I really should be checking.
This may be a stupid question, but are you sure you reconnected all the wires back onto the solenoid? If you're not even getting a click when you turn the key to crank, it sounds like that wire going from the ignition switch to the solenoid is not making any contact. Also, there are usually two small terminals on the solenoid, and you need to make sure you have the switch wire connected to the correct one.
Yes I made sure they were all connected. I switched the wires from one solenoid to the next and copied the same order. Although maybe they weren’t on the right way from the start
You can try to see if the new solenoid is working with this hack. Pull the ignition switch wire off of it and short it to the large terminal that has the battery cable. That should activate the solenoid to try to crank the motor; you should have to do this for more than about 1/2 second. If it doesn't do anything, then the solenoid is bad. If it does, then the problem is somewhere else.
Found the problem!!! There is a Ford Lord!!!
It turns out that one of the fusible wires on the solenoid was broken inside the wire casing. That’s why I didn’t know what the problem was. Haha! Now it’s turning over.
The simplest fix. Thanks for the help guys!
