Blue smoke - burning oil questions

Hi All,
I’m starting a new thread here as my original thread has a lot of misinformation in it (on my part) now that we’ve dug into it more.

This is the old thread https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...lp-please.html

So as a quick recap, we pulled the engine out and did a rebuild. Got the engine back in and started it up. Started up very well for the year down we did. As it was idling a bit we saw blue smoke. Revved it up and it kept smoking. A few times of trying to figure it out and letting her warm up and no change in the smoke. Truck idles a little rough but runs smooth at throttle.

No codes on our cheap code reader, no lights.

We have oil in the downpipe side. So we pulled the turbo. Pedestal connections were not leaking but we saw this in the uppipe collector. Only oil coming from the DS pipe.

So the smoke/oil is coming from the DS.

The injectors were re oringed but I’d like to understand reasons why I’m burning oil and if it’s coming fro
the DS only, what are the things I should check before buying new injectors?

We pulled the DS injectors yesterday and didn’t see anything externally wrong.

thank you

A leaking injector is making a mess. or maybe there is a wiring issue that is making that injector active?

I bet MPG is suffering a bit

injectors visually inspection for heat marks and cracks is all you can do. It needs a flow test done that you would have to build a special bench that mimics the HEUI head along with 3000 PSI oil supply.

You got the run the snot out if, specially after injector O rings, when i installed the 90cc back I forgot to drain the oil gallery and alot of oil went into the cylinders, did a few cranks with injectors on and glow plus out alot of oil came out, im sure alot went down the exhaust plumbimg. Well case in point took nearly 800 niles of driving for it clear up
