1950 F-1 with a 4.6L CV swap
Been building my F-1 for a little over a year now. It was a good running and driving truck until about 2 months ago when I pulled the flathead 6 cylinder out because I got my hands on a 4.6L complete with transmission. I already have it mocked up in the truck and ready to go, just waiting on my Ron Francis wiring.
I do not have the complete Crown Vic, just the motor and tranny (and whatever wiring is on the motor itself).
When I ordered the wiring kit, I asked them to program PCM for a return style fuel pump.
Can I get some insight and suggestions from you all as to what I'm going to need to set this fuel system up properly? I'm not familiar with the 4.6l (Yet...) Ron Francis guy told me the wiring harness is the easiest thing to setup up though, once I have everything else sorted out.
I'm pretty sure I have most everything sorted out. (I'm going to remove the A/C condenser for now. Whether I install it later or not, I don't know.)
Any here is a pic, since I'll get stoned if I didn't post one.

Same but different!
Nice looking truck!
I also purchased my wiring harness from The detail zone (Ron Francis). I am putting a 5.0 from a 2000 Explorer in my '50 F1.
Is your trans a 4r70w or AOD? If its a 4r70, the harness and computer will control the motor, trans, and fuel pump (universal return style or the stock returnless PWM pump depending on tune). I had the tune converted to return style fuel system. I had the PATS, EGR system and the fuel pressure sensor in the stock tank removed from the tune.
I bought an aftermarket tank to relocate to under the bed. It is set up for an in-tank pump suitable for the EFI system. I haven't bought my regulator yet, but I know which one I need.
I bought a 52 Ch3vy tank for the side fill, but a lot of guys use the first-gen mustang tank for its ease of installation. Mustang EFI Tank
The same site sells the in-tank pump and can tell you what pump you need based on PSI/volume requirements. In-tank Fuel Pump and return style Regulator
I haven't fired my engine yet, but I've done a LOT of research. It seems the RF harness should make it a plug and play application with just power, switched power, and ground required from outside of the harness.
There are some guys on here that have successfully done the 4.6 swap. Hopefully they will be along soon to offer some insight. Good luck on your build!
