Mobile One extended oil change ?

I've been running Motorcraft semi-synthetic 5w-30 in my 2000 V10 RV. We are going on about an 8500 mile trip . Anyone have any thoughts about using Mobile One synthetic 5w-30 with their extended oil filter for the entire trip ?

Thanks

My own personal opinion is NO brand of oil or filter is suitable for any mileage over 5K at the absolute extreme---this assumes its being driven during most of those miles, not idling for long periods of time.

While the Modular Motors tend to run lean according to the PCM's direction that's no guarantee you don't have fuel blow by---that's a sure oil viscosity killer. Changing closer to 4K would be my advice---I try to get to my own changes at about 3K. I use Valvoline's MaxLife synthetic blend 5W-30 and Motorcraft FL-820S in my V8's, all with over 250K miles. There are better filters to be sure but I pay about $18 for 5 quart jugs of the oil through Amazon.

When it comes to RV and the load they are under 5K is what I use, I know it's a pain to get it changed on the road but in the long run the motor may last longer. I use Ford Quick Lanes so I get Motocraft blend with a Motocraft filter, if it's a class C it shouldn't be a problem but a class A you may have to look around for someone that will do it.
