Correct Spindles for Disc Brake Conversion
I'm in the planning stage for doing a disc brake conversion on my '65 F250. I am planning for follow the instructions on the linked article. In the instructions, it says that for the swap on '65-'66 models, the spindle must come from a '74. Is there some reason a spindle from any '73-'79 won't work?
Also, I'm planning to use a disc brake spindle from a F250 so I can keep the 8-lug wheels. Has anyone done this swap with a F250 and found any differences in the procedure? Thanks.

Stay with the factory stuff so parts are readily available. Here is the guide.

If you do an advanced search in the 73-79 forum, I'm sure NumberDummy has posted a page form the parts book in the past. If you can't find a parts truck try" Car-Part.com " it is a salvage yard site. I think you may find that the drum brakes you have now are quite good if they are rebuilt and you add a power booster.
