Sick of dragging this old F250 parts truck around with the tractor to mow around it. It's pretty much striped but the engine trans and rear are under it and the tires hold air. Says something for tube tires. It hasn't ran in 4 years and then it was only just and not very well, but the goal is make it start and move for less than $50. Moving and stopping might be a little more expensive.
Stored 65 with the 390 in the elements for 7 plus years and I just wanted to determine the condition of the engine. Bare minimum, drained and added couple gallons of fresh fuel, here in Ca. that would take up half of your allotted budget, changed oil, most importantly check for fuel leaks; carb seals and gaskets and fuel lines, and there were no frayed ignition wires, the combination of both could make it interesting. Once the engine was running then fine-tuned, compression same w/ all cylinders, zoom-zoom.

I feel for you guys out there. Gas is $2.22 a gal here in town and it will probably go down a few cents after the 4th. I took the carb an fuel pump off this morning the carbs apart and in a pot on the stove with 4 dishwasher pods and some water, boiling away. There was no filter in the pump and it is pretty ugly but I think it will clean up. As far as the fuel tank goes, it doesn't have one. I'll figure that out later. Since it is going to 90 degrees today with 85% humidity the work pretty much stops about this time of day.
Most recent gas tax with more to come, not to mention elected official looking to tax water usage. Speaking as a native California and a wanabe any place else? https://www.mercurynews.com/wp-conte...7478.jpg?w=503
That's insane. Think what it will cost when crude gets back to $90-$100 a barrel again which it will eventually.
I think I solved my corroded fuel pump problem. While I was trying to clean up the one I took off I remembered I still have the original 352 from my F100. The PO had removed it decades ago but it wasn't stored very well and is locked up, but it still had a fuel pump on it and it looks brand new inside. yea!
