NY's July '19 Happy Birthday USA BS Thread

Just back from doing a bit of cruising. Saw a guy that is thinking of selling his 70 F200 with a 9' stepside bed. They had a chimney fire a few months ago. The fire dept used a "dry chem" type of powder to put out the fire. The powder spread through out the house causing breathing problems. Family spent 3 months in a motel, now staying in a travel trailer in the drive way. Still poor air quality so they can't get in the house. They had to throw out a lot of stuff. He doesn't really want to sell the truck but, he has to pay for things out of pocket. Then wait for the insurance company to get around to reimbursing him.

I had been working on a 24K BTU window air conditioner unit I use to keep my basement office cool - that has a pile of large computer servers in it
My idiot landscaper (who I no longer deal with) blew a pile of dirt and cut up leaves in it. It was starting to throw an error code for "high pressure" - because I foamed it in place, and it weighs like 150 lbs, I cut the fins out of it on the sides, turned it off, and removed all the crud.
Run it again, throws the code a few more times. Power-wash the condensor, because the crud had gotten thrown by the fan against the condensor. After that, I scooped as much dirt/crud out by hand as I could, through the blades of the condensor fan. Started it up, ran for a day or two when the outside temp was 90 degrees, so I figured it was good.
Next day, go out, clean up the left over fins with tin snips (the AC is running at this point), and when I'm done with that, I start looking at the air flow, and how the condensor is not really flowing air near the bottom, because of too much crud still in it.
Without thinking about it being on, I reached inside to see how much dirt was still against the condensor. BRAP BRAP BRAP - I stuck my hand in the moving fan.
Blood everywhere. Managed to hit all five fingers, some three times. Wrapped my hand in paper towels, held it for a few minutes, they were soaked. did it again, blood stopped flowing, wrapped it with fresh, and went inside. Wife was like what's with the paper towels.
"Nothing honey, I cut my finger". Hid in the basement the rest of the day
That was July 1st.
