My speedometer has not worked since the day I bought my 62 F100. I'm wondering if that has something to do with the conversion of a column shift to floor shift? If not any other thoughts?
When I say that it doesn't work I mean the needle doesn't move at all. The cable is hooked up to the instrument, and appears to be connected under the truck. But what should I be looking for here?
First place I'd start is checking that there's a driven gear on the end of the speedometer cable, then checking that the speedometer works and that the cable works. A drill connected to the cable rotated counter clockwise will test this. If the gauge is ok and the cable is ok, then it'll likely be driven gear (or as in my case, drive gear) related.
