1960 f100 352 FE 4x4 swap

Hey im doing a 4x4 swap and just wondering if you have to switch the front sump oil pan to rear sump or if I can just lift it enough to clear the axle housing. Any info on 4x4 swap is greatly appreciated. I'm thinking a dana 44 in the front, np435 tranny with np208 tcase.

You going to go with leaf springs or fab up some buckets & go with coils? Since you've got an FE motor, there's obviously a custom crossmember or motor mounts for it - will that affect whether you can go with a front or rear sump oil pan? My 400 actually has a front sump pan and my axle clearance is fine. I'm only lifted about 2", but it's a factory 4x4. You're definately going to have to have new leaf springs made if you go with that route, but that's pretty simple for any spring shop - mine were in such bad shape that I ended up having new ones made instead of trying to repair & re-arch.

FE equipped 1965 F100/250 4x4 and 1966 F250 4x4 as well as the 1965/66 F350 2x4 that came with an FE engine used front and rear motor mounts for that engine. The front mount system hooked to the unique timing chain cover. Instead of aluminum they used a cast iron cover and the bolts for the mount went into this cover. In the back end the bellhousing had extra ears that sat on the rear support member. The NP435 transmission had no support under it - just the transmission bolts that hold in to the bellhousing. Would be interesting to compare a few things and see if a front/rear mount system for FE would work in your truck.
