My brothers truck 2006 F350 with 6.0 has developed a problem that i'm needing some help with. The
truck is bone stock and has 135,000 miles.
Today after approx a 600 mile drive he developed some hp loss and black smoke issues.
Other than replacing the driver side glow plugs last fall the truck has basically been trouble free
For many years now.
I scanned the truck using my torque pro app and came up with the following codes.
PO 404
PO 478
PO 238
PO 299
The codes show high and low boost pressure so I'm thinking the EBP sensor and harness might be might issue
I'm sure all of these are releated but at this point I'm not sure where to start.would a plugged EGR cause these problems
Or Are we dealing with turbo or wiring harness issues.

Reason: Added info
Try unplugging the EBP sensor and see if the truck runs better. That should tell you if the turbo is sticking. If it clears up the black smoke then toss a sensor at it. For a good measure though it might be time to pull the turbo and clean it. The tech folder has a nice how to write up on it. You might want to pull the EGR valve and clean it also. A dirty EGR valve will toss a code.
Pulling the EBP and cleaning it and the tube is a good suggestion. Probably need to pull the EGR valve and clean it also (clean only w/ Carb Cleaner and don't get any of it up into the actuator).
Thanks for the replies ,makes me feel like I'm in the right ball park .,The boost pressure will come up but you literally have to lay the throttle wide open and after a slight pause
the turbo will spool up (about 25 psi )according to boost pressure gauge and the black smoke will clear up.
I going to do as mentioned hopefully that will clear things up.If not turbo will be next stop
Also the truck still has the factory cat,,,if it was plugged wouldn't it cause the same issues
