Power rear slider

How embarrassing to even ask this.... I will admit that my reading comprehension ain't the best.

I've read the manual in the glovebox and can't find this:

Power rear sliding window fuse. Is there one? It won't open, it is broken shut which is better than the alternative I suppose.

2007 Powerstroke Lariat. Extended cab.

Tia!

Mine did similar, was not a fuse it actually had broke free from the mechanism that the glass is glued into, found a good glass man, reglued glass into the seat waited 24hrs (48 just to be safe) and had my open and close back.... Possible yours may have done the same...

I had a rear glass slider stop working and it was the cable. I looked up the fuse and did not see once specific for the rear slider. Maybe the switch that activates it.

Thanks for the reply. I will see if I have 12v at the switch then chase the window motor.

Fwiw, I do NOT have the rear armrest. The video I saw on YouTube showed that so I'm sure the mechanism is there same but the location is different, maybe??

Retrofitting Power Rear Window

Would you know if it is possible to retrofit a F350 Crew Cab with the power rear window?

Thanks, Retreever

I have done exactly that, bought a complete rear slider including the rubber from evil bay, I could have probably fitted it myself but chose to let a local "old school" windscreen fitter do the job. I bought a generic window switch & ran the wires to the motor, The motor mounts to the rear panel, but does prevent the fold flat seat from latching back as intended. (This is not a problem for us as our dog travels with the seat flat & I rarely carry back seat passengers) I do intend to rework the back of the seat around the motor to allow it to locate as it should.

Hey Rob, thanks for responding, if you wouldn't mind I have a couple of other questions. My truck is a 2000 I don't have the fold flat seats. Would you be able to give me idea as to cost (parts, labor) - have you posted any pics?

I'll take a couple of pics later, the cost was around $400 for the rear window & seal, the switch & wiring I already had, the labour for fitting the window was some beer, I did the rest myself. My truck is a 2000, built late '99.

I have a 2001 F250 CrewCab and I want to convert the rear slider to a power slider. I see on eBay they have used power slider for 2008-2016 trucks. Question: will these newer windows fit on my 2001 F250?
Thanks

Power rear slider

I just completed a cab swap and converted my 2005 extended cab to a 2016 by nose swap and dash swap. The new dash had a switch for a rear power slider so I got a 2011 form a junkyard locally. It fits in the 05 shell without modification
Hope this helps

How did you set the 2011 backlite in the 2005 cab?

Was the 2011 Power Slider that you found in a junk yard gasket set or urethane set?

In 2008, Ford changed the installation method of OEM back windows to a urethane set method, eliminating the gasket.

1999-2007 models were previously all gasket set (two different types of gaskets, depending on if manual slider or Power Slider).

However, if a Ford Accessories Power Slider was added after the fact of production to a 2008 or newer Super Duty, it may very well have the same gasket set mount as the earlier Super Duties, and just require more work cleaning the urethane from flange.

But if the Power Slider was assembled into the truck at the factory, then I believe those backlites were urethane set for the 2011 model year, which makes me curious what you found in the junk yard on a 2011. Gasket set or urethane set?

It was urethane. I cut it out with a windscreen blade. There are plastic tabs/spacers around the window that need to be saved if possible

The cable and motor are behind the seat on the rear of the cab. You might have a carpeted panel covering it.
