Let's talk leaf springs (education)

I am looking through Mid50's sight and I don't understand what all the options are with the leaf springs. Could someone help me understand the terms listed below?

1 Posies?
2 Super Slides?
3 Duel Flex?
4 Short & Smooth?
5 Low & Smooth?
6 Reversed eye.... what this for?

I think Posies is a brand, they make springs
I think Super Slides, Duel Flex, etc are different styles of springs. I think the Super Slides have some kind of Teflon puck between the leaves that are supposed to make them smoother or something like that.
The reversed eye springs are designed to lower the truck a bit. Instead of the end roll being up over the top of the spring its "reversed" and is now under the spring thereby lowering the truck and inch or so. To further confuse things I think you can also order springs for the 53-56 trucks that move the axle forward approx. 1.5" to help center the axle the in the wheel opening.

That about exhausts my knowledge, I hope I didn't lead you astray

In addition to Bobby's comments, you'll find the answers to at least 1,2,3 and 6 if you read through the attached catalog. 4 and 5 are proprietary slang used by Midfifty to describe their offerings.

Posies Springs have been around for a long time building springs for cars, trucks, hot rods, ect. I installed (Super Slide) springs when doing my F1 suspension upgrade
Check out their web site.

Adam,

It is very confusing. I went through the same confusion as you on my truck. In order to simplify it and keep the cost down, I opted to remove two each leafs from my stock springs. I also added the Poly Spring Liner between each leaf. I have no idea how it's going to ride, as it's still a work in progress. I can tell you that with the added anti-sway bars and new shocks, the rolling frame seems very stiff. Time will tell!

I went with the Posie's Dual flex units in the front of my '55 and Posie's Super Slides in the rear. Other than the included u-bolts being undersized, I'm very happy with the quality so far. I don't have it on the road just yet, so I can't tell you how it rides either. Hopefully this fall!

Adam, Get ahold of Mid-Fifty and have them send you a catalog. It’s free and is much more informative than their Web site. Here’s a snap shot of their info on lowering your ride.
