1987 4.9 Ford 4 speed 4x4 help

So I was driving home from work and I was going 65MPH. The truck started to lose power to where I couldn't go faster than 55mp. I pressed the pedal but the motor didn't raise RPM and it didn't bog down. Just stayed the same. After about 4 min of lowered power, it dropped to 40MPH, drove for 2 min like that, then dropped to 30, 20, and 10. The weird part was I could slow down at any time and speed back up to that "max" mph but my range of power declined. Finally it got to where it died out. Now it just cranks, sounds healthy but no start. Gas is full, has fuel in the lines.....whats next? Inline 6 300 EFI with NP435 4 speed tranny.

Actual fuel pressure? Might be getting fuel, but if it is at a low pressure, it will not make any power.

I'll need to get a better test. Since I was on the highway stranded, I pulled the hose off going from the fuel filter to the engine and it sprayed me lol. But the truck was off and not running (wouldn't start) Whats the best way to check pressure?

I have the front tank only and the selector valve has been deleted with two dorman straight lines. Fuel filter was changed about 5000 miles ago...but...ÖÖ..that was three years ago. The truck doesn't sit very long, just doesn't go but a mile a day. Until about a week ago, I started driving it 70 miles a day.

If it was fuel delivery, I would expect the truck to buck when trying to get up to speed. This sound more like the cat plugged up.

Could be cat. My only thought was the pressure was dropping just enough to lean it out, but not make it shut off.

Best place to check pressure is the schrader valve on the fuel rail.

So I havenít checked the fuel yet but I had a spare coil laying around, swapped it out. But didnít change anything. According to code 14 its related to the ICM and I wonder if thatís it? But Iíll test for fuel pressure and spark first

Code 14 (CM): Two or more successive erratic Profile Ignition Pickup (PIP) pulses occurred, resulting in a possible engine miss or stall.

The PIP, aka stator, is inside the distributor. The error code and symptoms point to a bad PIP to me.

Letís go back to the fuel pressure check. I turned the key about 4 times before it built pressure. T
is that correct? Also I attempted to check for spark and I didnít see anything but it could be due to the tester not being fully grounded

So now thereís a loss of pressure and wonít go above 10 psi
