Heat shield for turbo and heat wrap around exhaust for down pipe.
I'm definitely going to get new bolts for pedestal... they are rusted and worn.. gonna get 3 bolts made of hardened grade 8 steel. Getting a turbo heat cover. Any plugs or hoses or upgrades in that area? I'm changing out the HPOP as well.. it's gone bad. Got new seals and gasket seals (OEM MOTORCRAFT). Anything else?

Lol, you aren't going to finish the HPOP thread and tell us what you are getting there?

Take a close look at heater hoses. Also look at glow plug harnesses. Be careful around the oil temp an oil pressure sensors. They can break.

There is an upgraded turbo drain tube - part # 6C3Z-9T515-A. Can't recall if the 04.5 oil feed already is the upgrade, but I don't think so - part number 3C3Z-9T516-A.

Are you going to open up the turbo to clean it? It would be a god time for that.

If you're pulling the HPOP, you're basically tearing down the top of the engine, and there's a whole host of things you could do that will save you time in the respect that hopefully, you won't have to tear it all back down again for a long time. In addition to what Mark said:

EGR delete
Y-pipes
Oil cooler
Hpop cover update
Hpop reservoir screen
ICP

i would use the oem turbo bolts not knowing if grade 8 are good the turbo environment, these come with turbo mounting kit, use nickel never seize or some other high temp, not regular never seize.

Turbo Control Solenoid Pigtail Harness in known to be fragile. https://www.bulletproofdiesel.com/fo...-p/6000045.htm

Perhaps consider a metal intercooler tube. https://www.bulletproofdiesel.com/F-...-p/6000076.htm

My truck is 2004.5 and it came with the braided turbo oil feed line. During my overhaul several months ago I replaced the flex line with the upgraded hard line.

Interesting....My 2004.5 came with the hard line from turbo... thank goodness.. I bought truck with 48k miles on it so I doubt first owner changed it. But gonna change the hose from EGR cooler ..its blue. Also.... gonna change out front crank seal... its leaking and change out water pump for an Aliant brand water pump... BPD is just too expensive.

Your truck from the factory came with the braided hose design. There were issues with it failing so Ford/Navistar came out with an updated hardline that is offered today. Here they both are for comparison.

The only thing I can think of is ... I brought my truck into ford dealership in Las Vegas for a few recalls..... I wonder if they replaced.
