I have an employee of mine who recently bought a similar truck to mine, 1995 f250 with the 7.5 engine. He has asked me to help him with numerous projects and first up is spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor. I don't know how long the plugs have been in there but i have never seen such rusty plugs before! I'm scared i'm going to break one getting them out but so far i'm halfway there... what is the cause of this has anyone seen super rusty plugs before? I checked the gap on first one and it was .070
I've definately seen folks "clean their engine bay" and get water under the boot but that's not likely to be a problem on the 460. Super old plugs maybe? Was the truck used for boat stuff? Sea water stuff?

No one knows exactly, but it has sat for a long time and i do know from mine there is more rust on plugs than i have seen before. But this truck is crazy rust... have to spray it with Kroil to get a socket to fit on there!
Well i got them all out with much patience and lots of penetrating fluid I'm thinking they were put in way to tight a long time ago. New ones with never-seize and properly torqued.
Glad you got them out ok. Mine were really rusty too but that didn't give me much grief replacing them. I think there were 3 different brands of plugs in it lol.

All in all it wasn't too bad, the truck is not needed on a daily basis so time was on my side. Just shocked how rusty and corroded they were and how tight they were in there.
