brought truck found later that VIN and Title was fake to cover non-repairable title
I live in Texas and I recently bought a 1962 Ford F100, before releasing the money, I was given an Arkansas Title with a VIN that matched the VIN on the Truck. I called the Arkansas DMV and they verified that the title was a valid title even though it was archived because it had not be registered in quite a while. Later I come to find out VIN on title and the VIN on the truck were fictitious. Apparently this was done to cover a non-repairable Texas title. In the State of Texas, a non-repairable vehicle can never be titled in Texas. Scammed !!! Seller will not return money. Texas DMV official states that if a frame swap is completed with a another VIN, then it is possible to get an assembled (kit-Car) vehicle title. That being said I need a new/old frame for 62 f-100 flareside or stuck with a vehicle that cannot be titled.

You would think Ford390, I initially tried that. Texas DMV stated the vehicle was never registered in Texas, only Arkansas. They required a letter from Law Enforcement called a VIN verification letter. They determined that the VIN on the door plate was fictitious and checked the VIN on the frame. That's when they determined the frame VIN was a Non-Repairable Title VIN. rotten luck.
