Wrong Axel?

Just took delivery on 5/22/2019 of a 2019 F350 CCSB Lariat. I ordered this back in March. I was looking under the truck and saw "Wrong Axel" written on both sides of the rear differential covers. This truck should have the 3.55 Electronic Locking Rear Axel and be the Dan M375 I believe not the Sterling 10.5 that still comes on the F250 (Non HCTP). I'll be looking to verify why this is written and if it was fixed why it wasnt removed otherwise I may have the wrong Axels? Any insight is appreciated. Thank you.

Correction. My F350 SRW should have a Dana M275 Rear Axel. Can anyone tell from the pic if this is an M275?

Can’t confirm that it’s the Dana M275. However, here’s a picture of the Sterling axle on our 2019 F350 6.2:

The axle in your picture is the Dana M275. Not sure why it has that on it. The one in your truck may have been installed in the wrong truck. Pic difference. Top is a Sterling. Bottom is a Dana.

Maybe because someone wrote "axel" on it and then the assembly line spell checker caught the error... 🤔

It looks like a Dana, is your truck a diesel? If so it is the right axle for the application.

Yeah, but unlike certain authors of certain threads, it appears that the assembly workers did, in fact, know how to spell axle.

Anytime I see a post/thread about axel, I assume we're going back to the 1980s!

In high school I had a buddy that drove a 77 GMC CCLB dually. It was a monstrous truck for it’s time. Anyway, the cruise control had a rocker that said “Set” on one end and “Accel” on the other end. He was convinced that button meant “Set Axle” and that it allowed him to change his axle ratio anytime he wanted. No matter how much we argued with him it never made a difference. Here we are 35 years later and he may very well still believe that!

Axel is a name. Axle goes under your truck. Ford assembly line workers can't spell.

Most frequent misspelled words on FTE: axel for axle, breaks for brakes, it's for its, its for it's.

Example of another frequent goof, apostrophe in the wrong place: 75' instead of '75.

There, they're, their ... the apostrophe exists to announce the arrival of an 's' I think.
