Well trying not to be a jerk but , if you have to ask why would you be buying such a big truck it's obviously meant for heavy towing my F350 single rear wheel 16 Wood gets phenomenal mileage empty 22 miles per gallon but loaded with the trailer and pushing 14 GVW 10 miles to the gallon and lower. I suggest if you need a 450 don't worry about it. I'm actually consider buying one for my business I'll just write off the fuel mileage in expense take care

There are too many variable to give an answer:

a. will you be towing heavy, just a golf cart or running unloaded
b. are you a lead foot or do you drive like grandpa
c. will it be just you or an entire village with all their stuff onboard
d. will it be in much stop and go, mountainous terrain or the wide open highways
e. etc...

My F350 dually is used to pull a 16K fifth (which will include my bride and two large dogs); I drive slow/ easy over generally flat open roads. I get 8-9 MPG.

YMMV.

I figured I would get a couple real responses before I got this one!
Did I bring up fuel cost? seriously? if i can pay cash for a truck the fuel cost isn't going to be a problem.
I simply asked for real world experience, which you obviously have none of but felt the need to post

about 50/50 loaded and empty. when loaded very loaded (not worried about mileage here)
drive like grandpa
not much stop and go, lots of mountains.

JEEZ he tried to throw you a bone, and you still came off jerky. Some people actually like to know the type of RANGE they will have on a vehicle. Knowing the range, also requires knowing the mpg's.
Clearly, he cares. He is asking. Clearly you don't know, but you felt it necessary to be condescending to him.
Sorry Bart, I don't know the mpg's. It won't be very good, but I don't even know what a factory tank size is on them. The F250/F350's are worthless for range. A Titan 50 gallon is in my future.

Empty, I get 15.5 in the summer, 14.5 in the winter. Many get about 1 MPG lower.

Towing a 15.5k camper, 8-9.5 depending in terrain and speed.

it's another case of Weekend Warriors worrying about having a truck that they're going to pull their motorhome to the lake and impress everybody LOL. You see now I'm being condescending this is what's wrong with the super duty brand now every weekend warrior has turned him into a lush piece of **** even the 2020 I'm looking at will probably need extra Leafs in the back to handle the work like my 16 and 17 did that's why I'm thinking of buying a 450 I'm hoping it can handle work and not need airbags or leaf springs . it is ridiculous to ask what is the mileage for a work truck especially a 450 you don't need to worry about mpg if you need that kind of power and towing capacity . By the way if you don't believe me just look back at some of your older trucks if you had the pleasure of owning them my 09 put this 16 and 17 to shame with the leaf springs when I sold the truck at a hundred seventy Thousand Miles it didn't even bend the 16 after the engine went bad look like the back end was dragging again great job Ford keep making the trucks like F-150s and they're not alone Chevy and Dodge are doing the same thing oh I mean ram

Exactly!
I don't care about the fuel economy in my excursion either, I just care that I can drive 650 miles before I have to stop for fuel.

Interstate driving at the 75 mph speed limit I get about 14-15. Slowing to 55-65 it will get about 15-17. Pulling a load can be from 8-10 mpg. This is my fourth F-450 since '08 and they all have gotten about the same mileage. Excellent trucks and they are the premier towing machine.
