Both Exhaust Manifolds

I just paid my truck off in March and wouldn't ya know it started getting a chirping noise from the driver-side firewall area. Took to Ford and the exhaust manifold is warped, rear stud is broken and the chirp is the leak obviously. Passenger side rear stud is broken also. May or not be leaking, but if it is, it's not as bad as the driver side...yet. Quote "starts" at $900 per side. Depends on how long to get broken stud out and how many more they may break. He tells me he has seen them go $1500 or higher. I did a search and it seems this is becoming, or has become, a common issue with this engine and the manifold design. Really sucks to be honest.

I have 93K miles on it. Mostly highway/business miles. Pull a 6500lb camper 5 or 6 times a year. I don't think I have done anything out of the ordinary or overworked my truck in anyway. Just think it is a problem with Ford's design. An expensive problem for me of course.

It was design flaw from ford. The studs are not thick enough, resulting in them breaking over time. The 5.4 in my 2008 F-350, same thing.

I bought new manifolds from the dealer and I am having a private shop do the install. He said about $300-$400 per side depending on number of broken studs and how easy they come out. All the parts were $400 which includes upgraded SS studs.

That seems like a great price for ecoboost manifolds from what I have found. Having to remove the turbos, coolant lines, oil lines, replacing seals for those lines, hoping to not break more studs. Passenger side I think you have to remove starter. Lot of labor. Service manager told me the manifold was $500.

That can't be the price for the manifold. I will see what the detailed invoice says when I go to pick it up. Internet says manifold is less than $60.

What engine do you have in your 2015 Lariat.

End result is $1084 for driver-side only. Mostly labor. I will look for alternatives to the dealer for the passenger side in the future.

I did the upgraded full bore manifolds on my 15, cost was 550 for the manifolds and about 150 in gaskets from ford. Took me about 5 hours total both sides. Not worth what the dealership charges.
