"O/D Off" light blinking?

"O/D Off" light blinking?
99' Ranger XLT 4x4 Offroad 3.0L Flex
I have another problem. My "O/D Off" light starts blinking and my truck seems to be stuck in 3rd gear. The O/D button works and it will shift to overdrive when it comes on, but not down to 1st or 2nd. I had my transmission linkage replaced and my reverse light sensor on my transmission replaced about a month ago and the problem seemed to go away. It seems to happen when up-shifting from 2nd to 3rd. If I turn the truck off and restart, the transmission is fine. I also had to have my computer reprogramed about 2 months ago when I replaced the mass air sensor and the EGR sensor. I'm starting to worry that my computer is bad because I also have a check engine for my flex fuel sensor. Does anyone have any clue where I should start with the O/D problem?
