swapping a esof to manual shift

hey guys I know ths has been done several times already but I wanted to know if therer were any updated kits or new methods to make it happen easily. my 1999 350 has an esof behind a 6 spd right now but it just took a dump, so im gonna need to buy a whole new case. which one is the best one to go with? if I just buy a manuaul shift case will it be set up to make the dash lights work ? or am I better off to get another esof case and modify it?

thanks a ton for the advice!
kevin

If you can find a NV 271F yes get it and install it. If not get the NV 273F and convert it manual shift.

thanks, I did some looking and I cant find one close to me and the ones I found weren't much cheaper than a reman unit. so I guess im gonna have to go that route. problem is I don have any linkage/ boot/ lever/ ****/ hardware to go with it. does anyone know of a knowledgable source that I can call and order everything I need?

and if I go manual everything will the dash indicator lights still work? I read several posts on this and am a little confused some say yes and some say no.

thanks again!

I think there is wiring issues that need to be done for it to work on the dash correctly.
And personally just put the electronic tcase back in. They work fine no need to swap over to manual

Goy ya. I might go that route cause I need my truck asap and I don't have alot of time for trial and error. I'll prolly kick myself in the a $$ the next time it leaves me stuck but i Guess I can modify an auto case later.
