Dana 60 shaft question

Dana 60 shaft question
Hello,
Brought my truck to a shop and they pulled the driver side shaft from my D60. Does this need to be replaced? There are some scratches and mars on the shaft and what looks like a seal is loose on the second picture to the left. They had also said the inner seal had to replaced but I don't have any pictures.

Your outer stub shaft (the short side) should not have that groove in the splines. The bearing surfaces should be cleaned up, new u-joints and seals should be installed along with a replacement stub shaft. That being said an up-close inspection could yield a different conclusion.
Here are my D60 shafts currently out for a rebuild. Notice that there's no groove cutting across the splines of the stub shafts.

Not that far in, mine are further out. Maybe there's a difference between years or D60 LP/HP that I'm not familiar with. (I'm no pro so hopefully, other more experienced folks will chime in as well)
I had a shop take care of swapping the gears and setting the pinion depth and backlash, the rest of the rebuild I'm doing myself.
East Coast gear supply and randysworldwide are places I also checked for parts. I ended up purchasing from Summit.

Does this seem to be a proper replacement given it's a 44?

My dana 44 has the big hubs also. it depended on the GVW, 7100 had the small hubs and 7700 had the large hubs, I believe the door tag will say F260 for 7100 and F262 for 7700 but I'm not sure on that.
In any event only the heaviest GVW had the dana 60 and they're not very common. I don't believe any 44's had the large hub after 1976 or early 1977 only the 60 had them after that..
