1 ton steering on dana 44 SAS
hi guys i have a 96 f150. just about done with my dana 44 straight axle swap from a 78 bronco. i saw somewhere that i can use steering from a 90s ford with a dana 60 (not able to use factory 78 steering without modification because of steering box location) so i bought a mediocre steering kit off amazon and everything seems to work out fine. BUT. my tie rod end on the drivers side seems like it goes into the knuckle too far and isn’t able to rock back and fourth. any input from anyone would be greatly appriciated.

I'm pretty sure the 44 and 60 take different size tie rods, the 60 has a larger diameter taper. If you ordered 44 tie rods they won't work. I'm not real familiar with the OBS trucks, but I don't see why the 78/79 bronco steering won't work, you'll just need to cobble together the right drag link to go to the pitman arm.
