Lazy Seat Belt

Wondering if anyone has ever tried messing with the Integrated seat belt on a super duty 2004. Mines getting lazy with age, and of course Ford no long stocks them, "at the least the parchment color". I know its not a good idea to be messing with them. it just gets a little annoying when you close the door and the belt is caught up in it.

Thanks in advance

Yep. Fixed mine.

And just about no one will tell you how due to the legal liability.

But it involves compressed air to clean out the dirt, maybe a little light oil on rotating axles, and washing the hell out of the belt to soften it up again, even if that means it gets hung out of an almost closed window and pressure washed.

I had the same problem on another vehicle at our house. I got on line and requested advice. One guy said he used Pledge spray furniture polish. I thought it odd, but tried it. I extended the belt fully, sprayed the seat belt, both sides, and wiped the belt with a cloth. Maybe after 4 applications the belt retracted normally. That was a year ago and it still works well.
