New F-250 owner!!!

Finally pulled the trigger on a 2016 F-250 King Ranch with 45k miles on it. This is my first diesel truck and was wondering what kind of maintenance or tips y'all would have for me?

Stay away from the YouTube comments section, they'll have you believing the truck is going to explode and you'll get cancer from driving it. Otherwise, oil every 7500ish, fuel filters every 15-30ish, check the fuel water separator every 5k or so. Batteries, there are two of them...

Have the dealer enable you DPF status in the dash for you, it's under the Engine Information section. They should do that for free.

Pics!? We like pictures!

Find a reputable diesel performance shop and delete DPF and have it tuned. If you can swing it I would also install a larger fuel tank.

Welcome to the party pal. Pics or it didn't happen. The 11 to 16s have a max of 22.5k miles change interval for fuel filters. Use Motorcraft fuel filters and your choice of oil filters, or unless you're under warranty with it. Better safe than sorry, that way they can't beyotch about using a non OEM filter. I am going to start a every other oil change/change fuel filters AFTER this upcoming oil change needs to be change. My truck goes about 7200 miles and tells me to change the oil.

Good advice on the tech folder. The DFCM (diesel fuel conditioning module) on driver's side frame is your lift pump/fuel filter/water separator. It has a yellow drain on it in case you want to drain to check for water. More guys will chime in I'm sure.

Nice

That's a very nice looking truck! Nice job picking that up.
Now you have to finish breaking it in.

"Being cool ain't cheap" club? Hadn't heard that yet, but by golly is that EVER the truth! It's a good lookin' truck no doubt. 20's suck buying tires for, but they look good.

My buddy taught me that one. Buying a new diesel and maintaining is anything but cheap. Oh yeah, 20s ain't cheap either. If I ever buy aftermarket wheels, I'm buying 18s because the wheels are a little cheaper and so are the tires.

What's so expensive about maintaining a diesel? Ummm, nothing. You silly person! I've had this one a little over a month and I've only dropped $1800 in it, plus fuel, and my truck payment, and fuel...
