Question for those with amp bed step(rear bumper mount)

For those that have this step can you easily climb from this step onto folded down tailgate? Interested in this since I goofed and didnt get tailgate with step and climbing into the back can be a pain at times but I want to be able to easily do it with tailgate down and not have to climb onto rear bumper then swing legs over tailgate.

Yep, no problems stepping onto the gate. I got the factory gate step and we don't use it since we got the amp step.

Love mine! It works great both while the tailgate is up or down.

It's folded up under the driver side corner of the rear bumper when not in use. Grab it and pull it down and you have a step to use for entering the bed.
The Bestop Trekstep is of as good quality in my opinion and can be purchased for either side of the truck. Had one on my 2016 and was quite happy with it. But Bestop was slow to jump into the 2017+ market and were not yet making them when I bought my truck. So I currently have an AMP.
I see that they're now available and priced lower than AMP. I know I saved at least $40 previously by getting the Bestop over the AMP.

Does anyone have a picture of how it works with the tailgate down?

The Bestop website make it look like it is under the tailgate when it is down.

It folds out at a slight angle. The tailgate does not cover the step. I had one on my 2016 Ram and loved it. Very easy access with tailgate up or down.
This goes for the AMP step...I haven't seen the Bestop version.

Mine makes it easier to step up into the bed. But it can fill up with snow/ice in the winter. That has me thinking about a mud flap to prevent the build up.

I love mine. You can use it with or without a trailer attached. I installed weathertech mud flaps to limit the junk that accumulates on the amp step. Well worth the money if you have to get in or out of the bed very often.

As stated earlier I had a Bestop on my 2016 F250. It's configured basically the same as the AMP.
