Pirate, that’s a stock height excursion.

I spoke to fabtech. They never had any bumpsteer issues with this kit. (Sure!!). Their recommendation was to double check alignment. I asked how can the same pitman arm be used on both the 4 and 6 inch lift. The pitman according to fabtech is a 3 inch drop. My question was how can that be ideal for both drops. It would seem it would be a compromise for both drops or ideal for 4 inch lift and borderline with 6 inch. Tech had no response for this.

Would more caster than factory induce bumpsteer?

I don’t know enough about the geometry of Y link steering and twin I beam suspension to have that answer but you could make that statement about a soiled axle setup because the reason ypu drop those is to have enough angle for the ball joints in the tie rod. It on the twin I beam you have a whole another set of arch’s going sideways plus a crazy unequal length Y tie rod to consider so hmmmm.

No, caster is not nor can not cause bump steer.

and yes... I gathered from the bump stop to beam clearance it was stock.

UPDATE

I have an update. I ended getting a killer deal on brand sparking new fabtech radius arms. Swapped those out yesterday and took the truck to an alignment. Most of the bump steer is gone with very very light drift. See the alignment specs below. Any thoughts?

Basically they changed your TOE OUT from -.03* to -.08 Like I said before, I am not well versed in the Ex RWD front suspension but I would want mine setup with +.03* TOE IN

The Ford Factory manual shows the spec as +.03* Toe in but + or - .25* so technically toe out would Ben within spec but me thinks it would be squirrelly with toe out.

Fwiw....the 4x4 Ex works best with +.03 to .06* TOE IN and as you can see they have the same toe spec.

Thanks pirate. It didnít need new ones other than for cosmetics. The ones I got were painted an ugly red by previous owner. I got a steal on these brand new ones so I jumped on them.

Pirate any issues with my caster at 6.7 and 8.3? Would adjusting the toe in effect the caster and camber?

Caster spec is 4* +/- 2 So let’s say a max of 6*
8.3* is a heap of caster but other then heavy steering at parking lot speed it isn’t going to hurt anything.

adjusting caster/camber affects toe but you can change toe without affecting caster/camber

I would start by fixing your Toe, Have them change the toe out to .+03* toe in,
Toe In is +
Toe out is -

Sounds good. I’m going to have them adjust the toe to the specs you posted. Just the change today did help the bump steer issue.
