92 f150 Spings/lift Options?

I would like to bring my 92 f150 up about 3-4 inches. What do I need to do? What options are there? Can I just replace the spring and get that much lift?

The purpose for the lift is that I have a plow installed and the frame is too low. It bottoms out and is a real problem. I would also like to increase the amount of weight I can put in the back. The other day I loaded it up with firewood and it was on the rubber stops.. Off road ability is not the concern

Thanks

Doug

LAST EDITED ON 08-Jun-01 AT 03:19 PM (EST)[p]I have a 94 F-150 with a 2.5 inch Tuff Country lift, which works very nicely. It came with front springs and the IFS drop down brackets. When lifting, you'll also need to replace the camber/caster bushings to maintain correct wheel geometry. For the rear, I used six leaf springs from an extended cab F-150 (mine is a regular cab)and they work very nicely. You may also just want to put "leveling" coil springs in the front(most suspension mfrs make them)or add air bags inside the coils to keep the front end up. I also forgot to mention that adding springs will not gain you frame clearance, it is the addition of oversized tires that accomplishes that. Mine has 33x10.5 15's on it. Hope that sheds some light...

Thanks for the info Fiddy. I think what need is leveling springs for the front and heavyduty springs for the back.

BTW: My differential(IFS) is not to low, just the plow frame which bolts to the truck frame if the springs are taller the plow frame will be higher..

Anyone know of any good brands or URL's that I can look at?

Thanks

Doug
