Most use the intelligent oil life monitor as to when oil change is necessary,

Two different dealers told me it was a synthetic blend even though its not shown on the packaging when I questioned it. These were the service managers also!! Blended or dino its been a good oil.

Don't doubt is good oil but as you know, most service managers are nothing more than ticket writers. Most have no real clue nor mechanic/tech experience no current experience either.

With the Motorcraft, I would change around 5,000 miles. Old habits are hard to break. When I switched to the full synthetic, I follow the IOLM which typically means I'm changing it around 7,200 - 7,600.

I could be wrong but if you don't tell them what to use or just take whatever they give you then it may just be the regular 10w-30 which may not be a blend. If that's the case then it is not a blend.

Here's the spec sheet on the 10w-30: https://www.fcsdchemicalsandlubrican...ry=Motor%20Oil

It's not a bad oil by any means. But if you're using your truck hard (severe duty, towing) then it may not be the best oil for your truck.

There is nothing better for the 6.7 than Motorcraft!!!
Is there something cheaper maybe but you want to take that chance?

I'd probably use it if it wasn't 2 1/2 times more expensive than T6 synthetic. I hear the Motorcraft is refined by Conoco, but not sure.

Sorry guy, but Motorcraft does not have a synthetic blend. If it were a blend, They would say so on the container as they do for the Gasoline oils that are a synthetic blend. If you are paying much over $4.00 quart for Motorcraft 10w30 or 15w40, you are getting the shaft. Wal Mart sells 15w40 for $4.12 a quart at my store. For a few dollars more you can buy Rotella T6 a full synthetic.

Rotella is the only one I am aware off hand that has a synthetic blend - T5. There may be others.

Rotells T1 - single weight dino oil 10w, 20, 30 and 50
Rotella T4 - multi-weight dino oil 10w30 or 15w40
Rotella T5 - multi-weight synthetic blend 10w30 or 15w40
Rotella T6- full synthetic 5w40 or 0w40

Motorcraft

10w30 - https://www.fcsdchemicalsandlubrican...ry=Motor%20Oil

15w40 - https://www.fcsdchemicalsandlubrican...ry=Motor%20Oil

5w40 - fully synthetic - https://www.fcsdchemicalsandlubrican...ry=Motor%20Oil
