PAUL, that is news that no one wants to hear.you have been very brave and fought a great fight.my prayers are with you and your family.just remember that god only gives you what you can handle, and you are so strong to be able to handle all of this.i believe that the day that we are born there is a day that we will die and only god knows what that day is.just remember that we are your other family and we will always be there for you.

Paul,
I consider you one of my best friends here on FTE. I'm very sorry to hear the news. You and I have had several phone conversations about challenges in each of our lives and how god gave us these challenges because we could handle them, and how these challenges have made those around us stronger and better people. I know of no one stronger than you my friend. I tell my family to worry only about today and MAYBE tomorrow, as there are no guarantees for any of it. Live everyday to the fullest and squeeze those kids.
I'm always here, just a phone call away, love you bro,
kevin

Your rational thought is inspiring
Paul, I don’t know you personally, but your calm, rational expression about the infirmities that eventually overcome every living being is inspirational. I had cancer surgery 16 months ago and the pathology report was Stage IV cancer having spread to lymph nodes. Last October- November I underwent radiation and chemical anti-androgen therapy. Now I am being evaluated for congestive heart failure. In spite of this I am still feeling reasonably well and I am still “mostly functional.” I hope that as things progress, and they surely will, that I can be as logical and rational as you have been in your message to us.
I (we) cannot help you in any significant way that would impact your physical health. It gets really old hearing people say “let me know if I can do anything for you.” They cannot. I will just say that you have done something for us. In the face of adversity, you have calmly and rationally shared with us some feelings relating to a declining health condition. That’s an example of courage we should respect and emulate.
Obviously I would hope for improvement in your condition, but if that does not occur, I fervently hope that you will receive loving, palliative care. I hope that you may take solace from knowing that your rational tenacity has been inspirational for others.

Paul, sorry to hear of this news, you have fought long and hard, you have taught each of us that getting "the news" doesn't mean "it's over", it means that it's time to enjoy the things that matter. I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers, as you have taught me that there is still plenty of love to give, even when things seem bleak. Spend your remaining energy with your family and friends, when it's time, the good Lord will help you.
You will be missed my friend.

Paul, we have never met or interacted, but I welcome you in my prayers. God has a plan, so I post this with all the love and compassion I can, from my family to you and yours:
Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion.” – Psalm 103:2-4

Hi Paul,
I'm so sorry to read this post of yours, and nothing I can say or anyone else can say can make it better. I hope knowing how many people love you makes it just a little better. How inspiring your fight has been and I'm proud to say I know you and you are my friend. I hope you get to enjoy whatever time you have left and you make the most of it.
Take care my friend.

Hey Paul, I was thinking of you the other day and wondered how you were doing. This was not the words I wanted to hear from you. My prayers are with you and your family that your remaining days, be it 5 or 5000. are pain free and filled with memories with your loved ones.. God bless - Greg
