6.7 Sound, Any Ideas?
So I have a 2019 F350 with the 6.7 and it has a weird sound. The truck has ~ 3,000 miles on it, and the sound sounds like its coming from around the oil filter area, not 100% sure. I don't notice any connection with the truck being cold/hot, etc. It doesn't do it 100% of the time, but it makes the noise most of the time. Almost like a cavitation sound. I will be taking it to the dealer, but hate when they struggle to diagnose issues, and thought I would check here first if anyone has heard this before and could give me a jump on where to send the dealer looking. I attached a video.
Thoughts?

Forum won't let me upload a video, so I am just attaching a google photos link to the video.

The link works for any one trying, click the TV looking icon on the top right once you get to his page.
I can hear it. Doesn’t quite sound like the fuel system hum but I almost hear that too. Are you one for doing your own oil changes? I know the manual doesn’t say it but I’ve always done an oil change quicker on a new vehicle, might be worth a simple oil change and inspect the oil before getting too caught up in it.

Typewriter noise - 2 Fixes Found
Is it the dreaded typewriter noise?
There’s numerous forums and threads on this issue and no fix. This noise isn’t specific to ford as Dodge and Chevy owners have been complaining. Now for the terrible news, it is normal. Inresearched the hell out of this issue and from what I have found:
1) A ford diesel technician said to use “5w40 Valvoline TrueBlue and a wix filter and enjoy”. I personally don’t use Valvoline or a wix filter but I do run 5w40 and I have never heard the sound. 2 of my buddies did the switch to 5w40 and after a few hours of running errands and idleing, the sound went away and has not returned for about 20,000km now. Apparently those additives in the synthetic oil actually do something. lol.
2) Another reported fix is to add “Motorcraft XL-17 oil additive/friction modifier in the crank case” at each oil change. I read it is $33/bottle. I have not done this but guys had positive reviews for the fix.

After changing my oil on my 2018 6.7 at 3000 miles , I actually got the typewriter harmonics for about 100 miles then the noise went away ... my 2019 6.7 is a much louder engine, no typewriter noise , but really loud . @650 miles .
I would see if your issue changes with rpm , in gear , etc ?
