Ford Pilot Plant Question

While learning things about my truck and trying to understand everything about it, I recently realized that my 64 F100 with a 223 was manufactured at the Ford Pilot Plant in Michigan but has a district code of 25 (Richmond VA). We used to have a Ford plant in Norfolk, about 1.5 hours out of Richmond, and it seems like it would have made the most sense for it to have been built there, but it wasnt.

From my understanding, only first runs were made at the pilot plant along with testing out new products there. Does this make my truck unique in any way? Or just a production capacity issue that sent it up there to be built? I was just curious. Thanks everyone.

E assembly plant is Mahwah, NJ

If it were an S then that would be the Pilot Plant.

See, I told you more may be known.

Where are you getting the "E" from? The first 5 characters I see are "F10JS". And I thought the 5th character was the manufacturing plant which would mean the Pilot Plant?

EDIT -- I see now that the window sticker has the "E" on it, but I swear on my life the warranty plate looked like an "S" to me.

I can't see the VIN number on your plate very well in your picture, but the scrap of paper seems to show it clearly for me. Which is right? Better check your frame rail to see if it matches one of those two.

Yep, I noticed that right after I posted my response and made an edit to my original comment. I'll check out some other locations and see what they say, but I'll bet you're right and they all say "E". Thanks.

Truck was assembled in Mahwah NJ (5th digit of the VIN: E) and ordered from the Richmond VA Ford District Sales Office (DSO: 25).

The VIN is so filthy it's almost impossible to read. Take a different pic after you use some steel wool on it.
