2000 f350 4x4 srw need front axle help

I had a vibration with my hubs locked in thought ok u joint in the left axle Shaft. Re did other side 6 no ago. I had the new hub assy so I wanted to do hub assy u joint and brakes while I had it apart. After hub assy removal I noticed a lot of play on outer end of inner shaft. I can't find a good exploded view to see if there is something flat out missing or do I have other issues too?

There’s a seal behind the unit bearing that goes south and a needle bearing driven into the back of the unit that the stub shaft rides on. Both are replaceable, but the seal requires (well, should use) a specialty tool for install on the shaft and into the knuckle

I bought my tool of Amazon years ago for under 50 bucks. If not there was a thread on buying pvc fittings at home depot to make your own but by the time you go there buy the parts and glue I'd rather just pay under 50 like I did for the actual took

outer end of the inner shaft will have a lot of play, it is supported at the differential only, the outer shaft supports the outer end of the inner shaft through the u-joint which has to have the play to minimize binding when steered, the outer shaft rides in a needle bearing in the hub/bearing assembly to keep it all centered.
