barb problem
Then when you put in in gear and start to shift to 2nd the truck starts to sputter like it is straving for gas. I can hold the choke plate open and get it to restart, but unless I force gas it dies. The it will not start.
The carb. is a rebuilt for 1 bbl , so I have to options.
1. try to rebuild it ..but have never rebuilt a carb.
2. With all the electronic ans silinoids on the carb. my thinking is there is something more wrong than just a dirt neddle setting or something.
I can replace the carb for $300 bucks. Seem expensive for a 1 bbl, but it is loaded with vacumum tubes, and electronic ckoke plates etc etc.
Thoughts on best approach to tackle a vaulty carb?
If you don't get a lot of feedback here, you might also try your question in the FI, Carburetion and Fuel System Forum.
Good luck!
