looking for input on tires
Didn't really want to start another tire thread but after reading so many posts here im am still a bit confused, so here it goes!
Have the 2017 Factory rims which i really like the look of, but i believe they are only 8 inch wide wheels. Looking to get a taller tire to fill in the wheel well, with the gap i created with the 2 1/2 leveling kit.
ditched the Michilens early and went with some 275 60/20 K02 's which have been great in the snow, just not the size i'm looking for ..The one tire that has been recommended to me is a Falken wild peak AT3 285/65/20 it fits on a 8" rim. Think i want to go taller... seems a lot of people exceed the minimum width and go with a taller tire, Looking for other suggestions for the folks that know more, thanks in Advance!!

I've been running a set of General Grabber X3s in 295/65/20s on factory 20s for a while. For an aggressive looking tread I'm pleasantly surprised with the ride quality and how quite the tires are.
I've had good luck with a few sets of generals and hope the X3s do as well as the miles rack up.

I'm running 295/65R20 trail grapplers now and will get about 33k miles out of them. I love the looks and the tires performed very well, but all my towing just ate them up and they’re too expensive to replace every 30k. I'll try ridge grapplers in the same size next. I hear they last a little longer than the trails. For what it’s worth, I had terra grapplers on my last truck and hated them. Most people love them, but I found the traction, especially on wet roads, very lacking. Other than that, they rode smoothly but weren’t very aggressive.
Also, if you’re towing, the nittos in this size are rated for 4080lbs (or very close to that, I forget exact rating)

I may try some Michelin Defenders in 295-65-20 size since I rarely ever drive offroad so no need for a more aggressive tread pattern, also saves weight (rotating mass) however I guess they will not look "cool" like RGs would. I am more concerned with how it works than how it looks.

Winter driving
Absolutely driving in deep snow over ice definitely demands a different tire. I spent 2.5 years working in Ohio and discovered what a real winter looks like (NEVER AGAIN).
Anyway driving in those conditions is dicey at best. Most of the locals seemed to be driving front wheel drive compact cars, not too many larger pickups like we see in Texas. It was quite an adventure learning how to cope with the entire winter experience for someone from deep south TX.
