On a less significant note, I got my logo on the tailgate today. Black emblem on the way and a new cab light ...

This is a good thread. I don't ordinarily subscribe to threads, but I gotta feeling I'm gonna learn me some stuff if I hang around here. Appreciate you taking us along for the ride, 'Bullit. I'm obliged.

Lots of pics here ...

I got around to getting everything wired up today. Let me know what you think ...

I had to run the wires from the grille lights to the DRLs so that was task one, a simple one at that. Overall I was able to finish everything in under an hour (including a trip to the parts store for new blinker lights). The biggest issue was deciding where to run the wires since the grille lifts with the hood. I will most likely secure it a little better but it will do for now.

This is the route I chose for the wiring.

Wired into the DRLs. on the driver's side ...

NOTE: Power for the new LED DRLs and the low beam (H1) headlights were pre-wired with a pigtail that plugged directly into the existing harness. WIN!

Thats pretty much it, not a lot of install tips as it was pretty straight forward. One thing tho ... don't drop the screws into the engine bay (fun times)

Daytime with DRLs only:

A few night comparisons (see notes on pics) All comparisons were taken at full darkness, 18' from the side of the building, the truck was sitting completely level.

NICE UPGRADE ...

The DRLs are definitely brighter and light is MUCH more dispersed.

The high beams are projectors in the new headlights. The new lights seem brighter, but light is more concentrated, time will tell how well this works out. I will update on throw

The low beams in the new headlights are projectors and DANG the difference! Besides the light pattern, they do seem much brighter. I will update on throw.

I am really liking the new look. I do have cab lights coming in the next few days, I went out on a limb and tried the new Cab Over America WIRELESS solar lights. They seem to be really well reviewed and plenty bright. I have a feeling those bad boys will get a post of their own.

Very cool Those lights are a great upgrade to the '08 (and '08 - '10 models). Keep up the good work (and great posts).

Thanks, man! I think they look really good. Honestly, I had made my mind up that the grille was a little too much, but after seeing the new lights on there, I like it. It's bright, but I like it ... I think the grille lights help.

Here are the cab lights I ordered from Cab Over America. I am pretty damn excited about these. You got to have cab lights on a Super Duty, but DANG its a lot of work and I wasn't all about drilling 14 holes in my roof. I priced wired cab lights from FORD @ $286 for the whole sha-bang, these are smoke gray and run about $100 more but no holes and about a 20 minute install ... YES PLEASE! Not that I will ever use them, but they also come with a "Long-Run" "Super Bright" & a "Flash Mode" ... not that I will be strobing going down the road LOL!

Video of install and demo (save yourself some time and skip to 2:45):

It might look good with the expanded part in black, too.
I used a heat gun on the black trim, to restore the color.
I tried back to black but it didn't work.

Yea, Back-to-Black is garbage. Sounds stupid, but I have a knack for getting, and keeping, a car clean. This stuff is one of the coolest products I've ever used ...

One more pic ...
