Ect and cht location help
I am working on my '01 f250 SD 2v 5.4L triton rebuild (daily driver). The plugs on both the ect and cht are broke but functional. I replaced the ect and my temp gauge quit working but my innova 3160g code reader still registers an accurate reading of the temp. But if I unplug the cht, it no longer registers a temp for the ect. With the ect unplugged the truck runs as if the cht is unplugged. Unplugged = open circuit = hi temp
the cht disables 4 injectors (5 for v10) if the temp exceeds 265F.
I have verified that the plugs are indeed plugged into their respective places and the wires have not been tampered with.
Is this normal or is there an issue with my pcm?
the new ect is universal so both the ect and cht plugs fit it. But the ect plug will not fit the original factory cht. So if this is a pcm error can I fix it by simply swapping the plugs once I replace the factory cht with a new universal sensor?
I will be replacing the cht when I replace the intake manifold next weekend.
thanks in advance
