Neil, ideally I'd do a 351/5.8L like the Lightnings had. Not sure if I'd do auto or manual behind it - 5 speeds are fun but an auto could be a real killer if I took it to the track or something.

Good morning from Sacramento, Gang! Apparently my brain is still on east coast time since I'm posting at 4am! Meetings went well. Headed home today for my son's Junior NHS induction. That kid is me, but smarter, faster, and stronger! LOL! I've got to get an estimate on the damage too.

Bill,
I hope the back is good to go and I love your idea about a flareside lightning. I might have a line on a 351C and a 351W or M if you need one. I'd be all about the 5-speed, but I get what you're saying.

Good luck with the diagnostics, Ron!

I'm a diehard manual guy personally; allows me to have a built-in theft deterrent for most of my generation (unwilling millennial here) . Could care less about the "automatics are faster, automatics have improved a lot, blah blah blah" yarn: gimme a man pedal and shifter, I will find a way to beat your slushbox in a race even if it means I gotta bangshift every stinkin gear and rev the engine till the valves come out and do a tap dance on the hood before I shift

Unfortunately, my only diagnostics will consist of changing parts, which I HATE doing with a passion: sadly electrical systems are my kryptonite, whether its in a car or my house. Guess after a few too many shocks working on my VW Beetle's in my teens and 20's I've become a bit gun shy .

Weird considering I do IT work for a living: you'd think I would understand electricity way better

Howdy folks. Super busy morning (FitBit tells me I already did over 10k steps) and I just spent over 2 hours in production scheduling meetings. Too much work is both a blessing and a curse.

Eh, not so much that, just a lot happening all at the same time. The production scheduling stuff was about the worst, but that's just because people like pointing fingers...

Mornin' folks, another lovely day in the Greater Pittsburgh area.

Finally decided to stop being such a hermit and joined a sportsman's club near me, so now I got access to a range and actual people instead of just using my Discord server's for social interaction . Nice things is I gotta use the War Wagon to get there, cause the road leading to it is a mostly dirt path with some gravel strewn on it

That one-speed fan is getting annoying though: guess I better go talk to the guy who did the bodywork and see if he has clearer diagrams than the ones in the Haynes manual

The Beaver Falls Sportsman's Club, they have a really nice facility and don't require an NRA membership to join like the one near Brady's Run: i was a member of the NRA for a year and they were a pain in the neck with their ridiculous "hillary's comin' ta take yer guns, hur dur!" crap. Plus that club has a ridiculous membership fee: its like 150 a year to be a member vs. 40 a year for the BFSC. One way or the other, i at least have a place to go thats not a bar or my couch on Friday nights now .

Sounds good, Ron. $40 is pretty good!

You know they make these wonderful devices called respirators, Bill?!
