Morning Bill, have a question on a 1962 F100. The illustrated barks book 3 page 888 shows a barrier behind the door access cover. The part number 237A04 with an * denoting look in soft trim section. i couldn't find the part number in ether sections. Could you take a look and see where its located.
Here's a picture of a pair of originals from my red truck. They are nothing more than lightweight tar paper that were stuck to the top inside edge of the compartment opening. If the zippered compartment was installed then this was just raised up slightly to clear the compartment. It's just a shield to keep water from getting to the inside.
I can remove a door panel from my white truck and take a picture of one still installed if it would be of any interest. If I can locate an existing picture of that I will post it.
I thought I'd taken a picture of the white truck, too, and here it is. No zippered compartments on this truck so they took virtually no wear to these. Moisture has had its way with them, but no holes or tears.
In fact, the replacement "Cut to fit from" part number that is specified in, at least, the 1975 MPC is the following part number which does seem to be a translucent plastic material.

Where is 20318 in the truck catalog? ebay ad says "full sized Fords," it's listed in the 1965/72 Ford car parts catalog for all 1965/70 cars & 1966/70 Bronco. 28" x 54" cut to fit.
Yep, that's it. "Cut from" on that page and "Cut to fit from" under 237A04 on page 29. Same item, just listed twice since, I guess, some have just the sheet metal panel and some have the zippered pocket so it is handy to look up for either case.
