Installed the solar cab lights today... here's a review

When u dry fit them, the Base plate (aluminum) of the out side two lights are a bit wide on the front edge to fit the contour of the roof. I just trimmed them to fit (easily cut with tin snips) ..you can see the difference in pictures 3 and 4 The rubber cover works well at molding to the higher edges as it's pulled down by the cover and castle nuts. Hope this makes sense!

That is gonna be the test, weather they are self maintained or not, for me i have a fair amount of sun on the truck in the summer, don't park in a garage. i don't drive the truck as much in the summer either as i'm on 2 wheels hopefully. If u do park in a garage, they recommend you install a fluorescent fixture above the roof line and they will charge from that, If they don't keep up to my driving habits I'll be back here Letting you know.
I went ahead and ordered as 398 with free shipping is easy enough.

Price is what it is. There are cheaper alternatives and some hardwired lights priced as expensive. I payed that much for my Gatorback mudflaps and others are happy with cheaper alternatives. If they are well built, last, do the job, and buyer is happy with them that's all that counts. I personally hate buying cheap s#@t from China at Wallyworld and then having to replace it 2 or 3 times when I can buy quality once.

If it has any foreign content, and I'm sure it does somewhere within its circuitry, I do not know the percentage. Hardly anything is 100% USA-made anymore. I recall ordering some later year exterior mirrors for my 2001 Ford Excursion and found they were manufactured in Australia. The 6.7L diesel in my F250 came from Mexico.

Cab Over America Origins
We have two major parts made right here in Oregon and we build them right here in oregon. And yes we had to go overseas for a part. And we are an American owned and operated company. Thanks for all the great response. Great review
