Driving on the roof of the 5th wheel so your magnets are in the correct location maybe a problem, just sayin..

Best to correct that issue...me thinks.

Easy way to see is look on the back side of the backing plate and see where the adjustment holds are located, the two slotted holes with plastic plugs in them. If on the bottom so are your magnets.

So here is the other side. The Utility side. A little more braking on this side since the wires come in here first. Also appears the rear one certainly needed more attention then the others.

I would still run them through this season, replace the entire assembly after you're done camping

I agree. Notice that 3 of the 4 opposing dots on the magnet are gone. That's another indication that your getting close.

Little higher voltage so a little more wear.

a little more wear than I would have expected. They will do for a Trip to Florida and then one to Colorado and Arizona, maybe a swing through Wyoming. but that is gonna be it.

Just think if where on your truck, you would be all over the road with the uneven braking.

Certinly going to test them to see how much of a drop I have. Has me wondering anyway.

I know they are all adjusted correctly. So wiring maybe where the drop is.

One way to reduce it is run some of that 12ga wire they use for low voltage lighting they sell at Lowes, I had to do that when the wires in the axle shorted out.

Hey Denny, with the disk brake conversion is it feasible to swap the brakes back over if you ever changed the RV ?

If you keep all the parts it wouldn't be a problem, the wire that powered the brakes in my case is now to short but that would be easy to extend.

I'm looking into the disc conversion as well Scott. So far I've looked at performancetrailerbraking.com and StopYourTrailer.com at the sites. Roy used the Performance site to get his. I'm thinking of doing just as he did and upgrading the 7k to 8k axles when I do it so I can get rid of the cheap China steel leafs put under these things nowadays. Plus a larger diameter tube is always a plus. You can go through places like Etrailer and Trailer Parts Superstore and get the items cheaper, but the kits are much easier to assemble with everything you need in one package. Not sure which way I'll go, but need to start planning it. It's a surreal thing to ride in a rig the same weight as yours and it be stopped in half the distance that yours can be. Really makes you think about why drums are even allowed on these sized rigs anymore.
