72 automatic steering column confusion
Working on a 72 2 wheel drive Automatic with power steering that my son just bought. The shift collar was completely destroyed. I removed the entire column and when taking it apart noticed that the bottom did not have a lower bearing or bearing sleeve. Nothing.�� it has a spring and a kind of welded in collar in the lower part and then just a black plastic snap in end cap. I’m I crazy, or am I missing parts?
I noticed LMC listed the lower bearing, sleeve and seal while I was looking for the shift collar and thought “mine didn’t have any of that.”��
