Looks like they won't do anything for you if you're out of warranty, even though they caused the problem.

I just put a dash cover on mine so you can't see it anyway.

I put an order in for one from the dealership. Hopefully it shows up soon. I'll be out of warranty in 3500 miles.

I imagine if you put the request in during warranty you'll hopefully be okay. It'd be pretty terrible if due to them dragging their feet you all of sudden don't get your TSB anymore.

I'm hoping that will be the case, but I'd hate to have to fight it. I've been lucky to not have a good relationship, or at least not close, with my local service departments.

So they have been having this problem for 4 years and have not fixed it with a better dash ? Just like the the freezing door latches they are STILL putting in trucks. When you are number 1 and cranking them out like sardine cans there is no incentive to improve anything in the overpriced junk you are selling .....

You'd think the risk of having to do a 6.5 hour repair for free would have incentivized Ford to fix the problem. Labor is their most expensive resource, so I wonder why they haven't fixed it.

The deal is that the junior engineer gets to design the dash. He hasn't (yet) learned the lessons previous dash designers learned. By the time he moves up to something more important,k he's not designing dashes any more, and we start over with the new new guy.

LOL....It might work.
If not, you could get more drastic and use a heat gun.

I guess I will try the heat gun if this doesn't. I thought about making a heat shield with foil and going very gingerly with the heat. I have an infrared thermometer. How hot should I get it if I try?
That dash is bound to be able to withstand 140 or so.

boy, I can't spell tonight

I would bet it gets hotter than that, but I do not really know. I do know that the interior of a closed vehicle in the sun can reach 140. The front of the dash in the direct sun probably gets hotter, but I don't know how much.

Took them out and dash is flat. Put um back in to wait on hotter weather just to make sure. Maybe ought to patent the idea

Not sure this is the same thing, but I have this curious hump on mine. I have a new 2018 XLT (bought in Jan).

Yep, that's the culprit. I was scheduled to get mine done yesterday as well as the transmission reflash tsb, but when they called to say the truck was ready, only the transmission update was done. Strangely, they set up the appointment to do the dash by calling me to say they got it in after I requested the replacement at my last oil change. However, I was told in the phone call that it was backordered. I wondered to myself if they would be willing to put in a lariat trim dash panel if I paid the difference since those are likely not backordered, and would eliminate the potential for a repeat issue.
