I understand the value of being able to move the cover out by yourself. That is one aspect I've really enjoyed with my current Undercover lid. I can Remove OR Reinstall it completely by myself in about ten minutes, either way. The Diamondback option would require some type of "system" for manhandling it by myself, and I need to keep that in mind, too. Perhaps retirement would offer you some opportunity to design/build a custom unit which could host the 5er and also be supported off the 5er for R&R. I'm thinking along the lines of center portal opening with a removable cover plate so you could still have it in place with the 5er, yet seal it up when running uncoupled to it. Probably cost more to DIY, but it would be a fun project.

The action of hitching up with a gooseneck or a 5'er really limits what you put aft of the hitch in the bed. I have a lot of ideas, but not many are structurally sound to put heavy cargo on top of them.

I have a truxedo, very similar to the vinyl one Sous has. Nice for keeping rain and snow out of the bed and rolls up quick and easy. Also maintains full bed capacity.

I got this BAK retractable cover off Craigslist for $300. I had to make a couple of brackets but it was about $20 in materials and some trial and error. Now it works great!

Edit: Just realized I'm still in the 7.3 section. Still, I'll leave my post

One brand of roll top retractable covers not mentioned much is Pace Edwards (hereinafter PE).

I mention PE for several reasons that I think will uniquely appeal to you especially (you = Rich).

Firstly, PE is headquarted in your state. Centralia Washington. Not only would you be buying locally, supporting the local economy, but you wouldn't be that far from rattling their cage if your tonneau begins rattling in its cage.

Second, PE offers several different styles and models of retractable covers... not just one model of retractable in a variety of fitments. PE, by themselves, literally offers "tons of tonneaus", with creative names that bespeak their purpose, like "Bed Locker" and "Full Metal Jacket" and "Switchblade Metal" and "Ultra Groove" and "Jack Rabbit".... all retractable roll tops... each with an optimization toward a customer favored characteristic... whether that be quick removal and reinstallation, such as with the Switchblade, or robust security, as in Bed Locker and Full Metal Jackrabbit (years ago it was called Jacket).

Thirdly, PE offers a variety of integrated accessories, like Thule racks, cargo racks, and full on contractor rig lumber racks that click into the same rails that guide the retractable tonneau, which handily solves the age old problem of different types of accessories competing for the same limited and coveted mounting space on the bed rails. PE also offers integrated Weathergates and Powergates.

Fourthly, PE offers commercial duty applications... which is in fact the only reason why they figure so highly on my radar. PE makes electrically operated retractable roll top covers for service and utility bodies, with models that also integrate contractor and utility racks. The same design DNA that PE builds into the elemental components of its covers to withstand commercial duty service in utility bodies likely propagates throughout the product line, even if only for production efficiency.

Fifth... PE gets fifth wheels...

I have no stake in, or attachment to, or relationship with PE. I do not personally own PE products either. Almost 20 years ago, I had some discussions about roll top covers with the designers of my service body, and at that time, after a survey of all the competitive offerings available, we arrived at the conclusion that PE was the one to spec. I ended up leaving my bed open, but if I were to close it up, PE would likely be at the top of my short list... 20 years later.
